Spending your holidays in Cilento

25-07-2017

Every year more and more people decide to spend their holidays in Campania. In addition to Naples, Capri and the Amalfi Coast, the tourist sector has for some time been showing great interest in the Cilento area and its Coast.

The Agriturismo Porta Sirena boasts a privileged position in one of the richest areas in Italy for history and nature: a stone’s throw from the Temples of Paestum and the Cilento Coast with an incredible view over the unspoilt hills in the area, spending a holiday with us means you won’t have to give anything up. Whether you are beach lovers and sun-worshippers or enjoy picnics at a height of 1,200 metres, by staying at the Porta Sirena you will be able to enjoy all kinds of leisure activities. If you are history lovers you can enrich your holiday thanks to the famous Paestum Archaeological Park, with its beautiful temples dating back to the Magna Graecia period. And not only: if you go further South, you can visit the Archaeological Park of Elea-Velia, less well-known perhaps but just as suggestive and rich in history.

If you are seeking beautiful beaches, the Cilento boasts an excellent selection. Among the best, we highlight “Cala Bianca”, voted by Legambiente (League for the Environment) as the most beautiful beach in Italy in 2013, “Punta Licosa”, “Cala degli Infreschi” at Marina di Camerota and the “Spiaggia dell’Arco Naturale” at Cape Palinuro.

Food, as you know, is a fundamental part of Italian culture. And Cilento is not to be outdone since the now famous “Mediterranean Diet” came from here. Anchovies from Menaica, Chick peas from Cicerale, white figs , “Soppressata” from Gioi and local wines are only some of the famous products from our territory and we take great care to concentrate our cuisine on valorising these traditional, local specialties.

If you don’t want to go exploring, Agriturismo Porta Sirena offers you a perfect opportunity to spend your time relaxing by the large swimming pool immersed in the green countryside at one with nature.
